The rural community of Rafin Daji, Gurbe Ward, Abaji Local Government Area Council, Abuja, has been thrown into turmoil as terrorists kidnapped 22 farmers on Wednesday, June 22.
They were said to be farming when the terrorists swooped on them.
Ibrahim A. Barde, an engineer, and a family member of some of the victims, said 13 members of his family were among the 22 abducted. One of the three tractors being used was burnt by the terrorists.
He gave the names of him family members kidnapped as follows:
Ismaila A. Barde, Mustapha A. Barde, Nasiru A. Barde, Abdulkarim A. Barde, Sanusi A. Barde, Usman, and Usman D. Barde.
Others are: Nura D. Barde, Abdullahi T. Barde, Babawo T. Barde, Farida Ayuba, Hauwa Ayuba and Husai Abdullahi.
These 13 are of one family from Rafin Daji, Gurbe Ward. The community has boundary with Lapai local government area, Niger State.
The affected families said they have reported the incident to the Police in Abaji but so far, there had been no visible action by the anti-kidnapping squad of the Police. The spokesperson of F.C.T Police was not immediately available for official reaction.
Engr. Barde said the community is confused and in great agony. He called on the government to rally to their assistance and rescue the kidnapped farmers.
