Six Bodies Recovered As Bangladeshi Ferry Capsizes

 

At least six bodies have so far been recovered from a Bangladeshi ferry which capsized in a river 27 kilometres away from Dhaka, the Bangladeshi capital today.

The M.V. Miraj-4 ferry with about 200 passengers on board was hit by storm in the Meghna River at Rasulpur in Munshiganj district.

Saful Hassan Badal, Deputy Commissioner of Munshiganj district, said rescue team and vessels have been deployed to the site of the accident.

Badal said the navy and coast guards that constitute the rescue team were sent from the capital, Dhaka.

Bodies so far recovered from the ferry, which was heading towards Shariatpur from Dhaka, include that of a child.
