Sanwo-Olu lifts Lagos lockdown for Easter Celebration

The Executive Governor of Lagos State, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has suspended the lockdown placed on the state because of the coronavirus pandemic. Sanwo-Olu did that in response to appeals by Christian and Muslim faithful to enable them carry out their spiritual responsibilities for the period of Easter. The temporary lift of the ban will be from Friday through Sunday, this week. The Governor has hereby given the directive that Lagosian should be allowed movement between the hours of 8 am-to-4 am on Friday to enable residents of the state to shop for Easter celebration.
It was reported that Chairman of the Lagos State Chapter of the Cherubim & Seraphim Unification Church of Nigeria, Snr. Supt. Apostle Joseph Olatunde Adagba, recently made a call to the Lagos State Government to relax the lockdown directive ahead of the Easter Celebration as a means of God plans to cleanse the land from all forms of illnesses including the ravaging Coronavirus.
Meanwhile, the Federal Government on Tuesday declared Friday, April 10 and Monday, April 13 as public holidays in Nigeria to celebrate this year’s Easter.
