Rivers Govt Calls For Removal Of SARS Commander Fakorede

The Rivers State Government has called for the removal of Akin Fakorede as the Commander the Rivers State Anti-Robbery Squad.

The Commissioner for Information, Emma Okah, who made the call on Monday at a press conference at Government House, Port Harcourt, accused Fakorede of using his position to aid armed robbery, kidnapping, election rigging, illegal detention, extortion, and rape.
Okah particularly alleged that an “inner minister” of the Federal Government procured Fakorede be posted to Rivers State to rig recent rerun elections Rivers State, which three police officer successfully did.
The Commissioner said the Inspector General of Police and the Police Service Commission had refused to remove Fakorede from Rivers State despite retreated to do so.
He recalled several incidents in which he said SARS operatives under Fakorede were caught in various crimes the state.
Fakorede had denied the allegations asking for proof be shown in any of the charges leveled against him and his men.
