Rescue workers are battling to save lives at the scene of a collapsed school building in Lagos.
Many primary school pupils were feared dead this Wednesday morning when a three-storey building located in the Ita Faji area of Lagos Island collapsed at about 10am.
Eye witnesses say the school was on the last floor of the building. Cries of the primary school pupils were heard around the scene.
As at the time of this report, residents said no fewer than 10 pupils had been removed from the rubbles of the collapsed building.
Parents and guardians were also seen around the school, wailing, with many still in search of their kids.
Officials of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, have been on ground for rescue efforts.
