The Transition Monitoring Group, TMG on Thursday said it will deploy 4,000 citizen observers to monitor the Presidential and National Assembly Elections on Saturday, March 28.
Ibrahim Zikirullahi, the Chairman of TMG disclosed this during a press conference, saying the group will strategically place mobile and stationary citizen observers in every geopolitical zone and every state including the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja.
The personnel will also be positioned to cover all the 774 local government areas in the country.
As part of TMG’s observation effort, the chairman of the group said they will conduct a Quick Count, an observation methodology that employs well-established statistical principles and utilizes sophisticated information technologies.
Zikirullahi said the Quick Count is the only observation methodology that can independently verify the official presidential results as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
He explained that it provides the most timely and accurate information on the conduct of voting and counting.
