A chieftain of the All-Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Hon. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has described the emergence of Bola Oyebamiji as the party’s candidate for the August 8, 2026, governorship election as a clear signal of victory for the APC.
Speaking with journalists on Sunday in Osogbo, Oyintiloye said Oyebamiji’s emergence through a consensus arrangement reflects the unity, maturity, and internal democracy within the party, noting that the process should be credited to the APC leadership, party members, and especially aspirants who stepped down for the sake of cohesion.
According to him, the manner in which Oyebamiji emerged underscores the growth and excellence in character for which the APC is known.
“With Oyebamiji as the party’s candidate and the APC’s impending victory at the polls, the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu will be seamlessly translated into good governance in Osun State,” Oyintiloye said.
He added that with the successful conclusion of the primary election, the party’s focus should now shift fully to the main governorship poll.
“Oyebamiji as our candidate is a right step towards the victory awaiting the APC. However, we must work hard as a united family with a common purpose for that victory to be realised,” he stated.
The former lawmaker recalled that some critics had earlier predicted an implosion within the party due to the large number of aspirants who initially indicated interest in the APC ticket. He, however, said such fears were laid to rest through the timely intervention and leadership of party elders.
Oyintiloye commended President Bola Tinubu, the APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, Chief Bisi Akande, the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola, and other party leaders for their guidance and commitment, which he said ensured a smooth and successful primary election in Osun.
He further appealed to the APC leadership in the state to continue strengthening the party’s structure to make victory in the 2026 governorship election less stressful.
Oyintiloye expressed confidence that, if elected, Oyebamiji would lead a people-friendly government, implementing programmes and policies aimed at positively impacting the lives of Osun residents.
He concluded by urging APC members across the state to redouble their efforts, remain united, and work collectively towards returning the party to power in Osun State.
