Adeyeye Ogunwusi the Ooni of Ife and has dedicated the new year 2016 to turnning around of the fortune of the youths by unfolding a new vista of hope in terms of gainful employment He said this in his royal greetings to the people of Ile-Ife, Osun State, Oodua race and Nigeria in general as the nation witness the dawn of a new year 2016. Not fewer than 3,000 youths are already engaged at an ongoing project site of Ife Grand Resort, spanning over 1000 acres of land, established by the monarch to provide job opportunities for the people. In a bid to improve the lots of Ife youths as well as to reduce social vices, a 30,000 squares miles of land has also been acquired at Ife reserve to drive massive agricultural revolution which would pave way for cocoa, oil palm and rubber plantation. This scheme would create job opportunities for nothing less than 40,000 people. Oba Ogunwusi has also set up a working committee on the “Youth Sport Drive and Talents Hunt” which is being spearheaded by Adegboye Onigbinde,a renowned FIFA instructor and former Super Eagle coach and Taiwo Ogunjobi NFA stalwart, to come out with a template of bringing back the old glory of sport competition, tagged “ Oduduwa Cup”. According to Moses Olafare, media, the tournament will take place across the Yoruba Nation. Ogunwusi urged the youths to keep the hope alive and be law-abiding and key into the Change agenda of the government. He prayed for the grace of God and prosperity for the people of Ile-Ife, Yoruba and entire Nigeria in the new year.
