Giving reason why FOWOSO was set up, the current first lady said. “I have always been saying it that we all have to (do) more and that includes all spheres of life. I need you to take this message back to your local government so that our women can have a sense of what we are doing.
“Our job is to take care of the softer sides of government. That is not to say our husbands are not doing enough, in fact, they are overwhelmed in the face of dwindling federal allocation. If we get it right, everybody will feel the impact of governance. We are the ones the society is looking upon to take care of some of these issues,” she stressed.
Arabinrin Akeredolu also used the opportunity to educate other FOWOSO members on the importance of good nutrition and immunization among others, emphasizing that the time has come for women to assert themselves in all spheres of decision making in the country.
“I tell you, it is somebody that is well that can do stuffs; if your child or husband is sick, you won’t be able to do anything. That goes to show how critical our health is to national development. Nutrition is connected to our health,” she said.
