Ogun PDP charges aspirants N2.5m for governorship form

Each of the governorship aspirants on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ogun State is to pay a sum of N2.5m to pick a form of intention to contest in the 2015 election.

Kayode Amusan, one of the aspirants, disclosed this on Monday after he obtained his form of intention at the party secretariat in OkeMosan area of Abeokuta.

Semiu Sodipo, the state’s party Secretary, said that two aspirants had already paid for the forms adding that the money was non-refundable.

He said, “Two of the aspirants have paid and obtained their forms of intention to contest for the governorship election.”

Amusan explained that he decided to seek the governorship seat in the state because of the complaints he reportedly received daily from residents of the state.

“My intention to contest for the governorship seat was borne out of the fact that there have been complaints from the people as regards the collapsing economy of the state.

“When you look at the people, you will see them being increasingly impoverished, there is increase in poverty, high increase in the debt profile of the state and regular capital flight,” Amusan said.
