According to the source, the gunmen, who opened fire on the bus, whisked away their victims, including the driver, into the bush. He however said some of them managed to escape somewhere along the way. The magazine gathered that the hoodlums have made contacts with the families of three prominent ones among the victims demanding ₦60 million for their release.
When reached for confirmation of the incident, the Edo State Police spokesman Chidi Nwanbuzor, superintendent of police, SP, said that the police was yet to be notified but promised to get back to journalists after being briefed.
