‘Local Content Law Has Created Many Nigerian Billionaires’ -Jonathan

President Goodluck Jonathan says since the signing of the Local Content Bill into law in Nigeria, many more Nigerians have become billionaires by participating in the oil and gas industry.

Jonathan said many Nigerians now participate in oil business more than ever before and thereby make more money and create jobs in the private sector.

He said the federal government, in partnership with private investors, is turning many Nigerians in the oil sector to billionaires.

Jonathan said the People’s Democratic Party, PDP- led government is working with the private sector because “we are not dictators.”

The President said this on Saturday at the PDP southwest sensitization unity rally in Lagos.

Addressing dozens of party members who thronged the Tafawa Balewa Square, TBS, Lagos for the rally, Namadi Sambo, Vice President said Lagos-Ibadan rail line contract has been signed and work will soon commence on it.

Speaking at the rally, Bode George, chieftain of the PDP, congratulated the president for his unanimous endorsement as the party’s sole candidate in next year’s general election and promised to mobilize southwest votes for him in 2015.
