A mild drama ensued today at the Archbishop Vining Memorial hall, Ikeja, Lagos State where winners of the April 11 governorship and House of Assembly election in the state were presented with their certificates of return.
The event had in attendance, groups of supporters backing PDP and APC politicians who had emerged victorious at the polls.
The supporter groups then faced each other singing and chanting abusive songs at the event which also had Akinwumi Ambode and Oluranti Adebule, governor and deputy governor elect and elected National Assembly members in attendance.
At some point in the course of the event, shouts from the two opposing supporter groups overwhelmed the loudspeakers in the hall and the incident almost degenerated into a fisticuff before the program was hastily ended.
