Jonathan Mourns Emir of Gombe, Mariama Kutigi

President Goodluck Jonathan has commiserated with Ibrahim Dankwanbo, Gombe State Governor and the people of Gombe State in general over the death of Sheu Abubakar, Emir of Gombe who died in London yesterday.

Speaking through Reuben Abati, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, the president described Abubakar as a leader who has ruled the people of Gombe Emirate with immense wisdom and dedication for many years.

He made reference to the warm reception and courtesies the late Emir extended to him and his delegation during his visit to Gombe for the North-East Economic Summit in December 2013.

President Jonathan also expressed condolences to Idris Legbo Kutigi, Chairman of the National Conference, on the death of his wife, Mariam Kutigi who also passed away yesterday.

The President prays that God comforts the families of the deceased and grant them the courage to bear the loss of their loved ones.
