The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has extended the Continuous Voter Registration by one week in the Federal Capital Territory. This was announced in a statement signed by the FCT INEC Administrative Secretary, Abdulrahman Adamu, and released on Monday in Abuja.
As stated in the statement, the extension would start on September 22 and run through September 28, between 8.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m. daily. The extension, according to the statement, was for those who did not register before.
“If you registered in 2011 but could not find your name on the voter register displayed during the distribution of permanent voter cards, this offers you another opportunity. It also provides opportunity for those who have just turned 18 years of age after the last registration in 2011,” the statement said.
The registration was expected to take place in the six area councils of the FCT – AMAC, Bwari, Kuje Abaji, Kwali and Gwagwalada.
