The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has said that Ayodele Fayose, Ekiti State governor, will respond to the impeachment notice served on him by members of the Ekiti State House of Assembly.
Olisa Metuh, National Publicity Secretary of the PDP stated that the impeachment notice must be properly served on the governor who he said, will eventually respond to the notice.
Metuh said this while answering questions from journalists at the PDP national headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday.
He accused members of the Ekiti House of Assembly of being bent on bringing crisis upon the state even though their tenures are about to expire.
“Fayose would reply accordingly to the impeachment notice if the lawmakers follow due process. The governor will respond accordingly when they (lawmakers) do it properly. But why are these lawmakers, who have less than one month to leave, in a hurry to sack their governor? They have grown wings as soon as the result of the Presidential election was announced. It is immoral and undemocratic for a group of 19 lawmakers to put a state in chaos,” Metuh said.
He urged the President-Elect, Muhammadu Buhari, to intervene in the crisis in Ekiti State in order to show that “he is truly a born again democrat.”
