I have Not Stepped Down For Any Candidate – Alao-Akala

Adebayo Alao-Akala, governorship candidate of the Labour Party in Oyo State, has dismissed rumours making the rounds that he has withdrawn from Saturday’s governorship election.

Oludare Ogunlana, Director of Public Affairs, Akala’s campaign team stated this during a press conference held in Ibadan on Tuesday, warning those peddling the rumour to desist from such act.

While expressing optimism for Akala’s victory in Saturday’s election, Ogunlana criticized Abiola Ajimobi, Oyo State governor, for blaming his failure to carry out some capital projects on inadequate and delayed allocations from the Federal Government.

“It was irresponsible of the All Progressives Congress to blame paucity of funds for its under-performance at a time the government is winding up. No amount of lies will save Governor Abiola Ajimobi from defeat.

“For having nothing to show for all the allocation it has gotten since inception, this government is not only fraudulent but lacking creativity. May we ask where states like Osun, Ekiti get funds to do the enormous works they have been able to do while Oyo State continues to suffer developmental deficiency?” Ogunlana inquired.
