Nigerian chef Hilda Baci has once again carved her name into history, this time setting a new Guinness World Record for the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice. The record-breaking dish weighed a staggering 8,780 kilograms (19,356 lb 9 oz) and was prepared in a single massive pot at Victoria Island, Lagos, on September 15, 2025.
The culinary feat, achieved in partnership with Gino under GBfoods, required meticulous planning and adherence to Guinness standards, which mandate at least 80% rice content. Over 600 cartons of tomato paste, and 120 cartons of seasoning cubes went into the nine-hour cooking marathon, closely monitored and verified by Guinness officials present on-site.

The event, hosted at Eko Hotel and Suites, attracted huge crowds, celebrities, and food lovers eager to witness history. Once confirmed, Guinness World Records celebrated the achievement online, posting:
“New record: Largest serving of Nigerian style jollof rice – 8,780 kg (19,356 lb 9 oz) achieved by Hilda Baci and Gino in Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria.”
