German Minister Lauds Ogun’s Development Projects

Geah Mueller, German Minister of Economic Cooperation and Development has commended the development policies of the Ibikunle Amosun-led administration in Ogun State saying this has attracted his country to the state.

Mueller disclosed this when he led a high-profile delegation on a courtesy visit to Ibikunle Amosun, Ogun State Governor in his office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

Mueller cited the rich resources, fair weather and fertile land as unique assets of the state and added that Germany is ready to help Ogun State in the terms of road development, increasing agricultural productivity and vocational education and training and other areas of focus the state desires.

Germany is not deterred by present security challenges in the country as Mueller said, “We have seen very good examples here today: a peaceful atmosphere and also interesting to know that women are actively involved in the politics in your state. We must not reduce your country to the image painted by the insurgency. Your country is big and magnificent, very strong women in your polity and these are why we want to expand our work here.”

In his remarks, Amosun described education as the best heritage the government could give to the people, adding that it is among the five cardinal programmes of the state.
