The three-day terrorist attack that led to the killing of no fewer than 17 persons, including journalists, saw Islamist gunmen attacking in different parts of France including Charlie Hebdo, a French satirical magazine.
At the ceremony held in central Paris, Francois Hollande, President of France honoured three police officers shot dead with France’s top honour, the Legion d’Honneur.
The three officers are Franck Brinsolaro, Ahmed Merabet and Clarissa Jean-Philippe.
Four of the victims, mainly Jews, who were killed at the Kosher supermarket, are being buried at the HarHaMenuhot cemetery in Jerusalem.
Benjamin Netanyahu, Israeli Prime Minister, who is among the hundreds that attended the Jerusalem funerals, told mourners that“the victims’ lives had been cut down by hatred.”
