Former Kogi commissioner dies in auto crash

Grace Elebiyo, the immediate past Commissioner for Education in Kogi State, is dead.She died on Tuesday evening after she was involved in an auto-crash along Kabba-Okenne road, Kogi State while returning from a public function.

This was disclosed in a statement issued on Wednesday by Jacob Edi, Special Adviser, Media and Strategy to the Kogi State Governor.

Idris Wada, Kogi State Governor, was quoted in the statement as commiserating with the people of the state in general and particularly the family of the deceased over the untimely death.

Wada who received news of the transition with shock recalled the selfless contributions of the late commissioner to the development of the state.

“This death has further depleted the rank of our community leaders,” Wada said.

He added that, “The late former commissioner was humble, service oriented and committed to the growth of education in the state.

“This is one death too many. May Her gentle soul rest in peace and may God grant us the fortitude to bear the loss.”
