Prof. Albert Ilemobade, former Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology Akure, FUTA, has been kidnapped.
The septuagenarian was reportedly abducted yesterday morning with his guard at his residence at Ijapo in Akure, the Ondo State capital.
The abductors, who went away with his car, abandoned it on Ijare Road, in Ifedore Local Government Area of the state.
While the abductors were yet to make contact with the family, friends and relations have besieged the residence of Ilemobade.
Wole Ogodo, Police Public Relations Officer for the Ondo State Command, said security operatives have begun investigation.
Ilemobade was Vice-Chancellor between 1987 and 1995. He is a staunch member of, Freedom of Information Act, FOIA Coalition and Adviser to the Southwest FOIA Network.Follow Us on Social Media
