The Edo State House of Assembly passed into law on March 27, a bill establishing the state University of Education, Ekiadolor.
The law repeals a previous one establishing the College of Education, Ekiadolor that was passed in 1988. The bill was passed after the House adopted the standing Committee on Education’s report.
The newly passed law upgrades the college of education, as it will now offer courses in education and training for graduate and non -graduate teachers. Uyi Igbe, Speaker of the House of Assembly has directed that clean copies of the law be sent to the governor for his statutory assent.
