The Bishop, who said he received the written testimonies of the 36 persons, asserted that “These are the raw manifestations of His manifest presence. And the glory must go to Him… You see, someone went to bed in this encounter season, and a giant man came; that’s Jesus, and operated on him, that’s Jesus. These are not make-believe stories; these are real-life encounters. He showed Himself alive in many infallible proofs”.
Quoting from Acts 3:13 and Deuteronomy 34:37, Oyedepo noted that it was under the same mighty hand of God that Peter and John healed the cripple at the Beautiful Gate, and did signs and wonders through Moses and Paul. According to him, “Peter said why look on us as if it is by our power and holiness we have made this man whole, but in His name. It’s our God at work and not we, and the glory must go to Him”. The cleric said “In Deuteronomy 34:37, talking about Moses, there arose not a prophet in Israel unto Moses whom the Lord knew face to face, and all the signs and wonders which the Lord sent him to do. All that mighty hand of God that sent him is behind it. God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul. And God was walking with them, confirming His word with signs following. They were speaking boldly and God was giving testimony to the word of His grace. And God granted signs and wonders to be done by their hands”.
Oyedepo warned that “To disregard the works of God is to compel Him to withdraw His hand. To take God for granted is to be grounded. Every miracle that we see, every testimony we receive, they are the fingers of God at work and so the glory must go to Him”.
