Corruption Is the Bane of Nigeria – Methodist Church

The Methodist Church Nigeria, Diocese of Remo, Ogun State, has said that corruption is the cause of the diminutive growth of the economy, unemployment and insecurity currently plaguing Nigeria.

Michael Akinwale, Bishop of the Diocese while speaking at the Synod urged the federal government to look into the issue of power and power generation in the nation. He added that security is also the responsibility of the government and it has to be addressed.

“The National conference should not be a talking carnival, issues of common interest that affects us as Nigerians must not be treated with levity or politicized,” said Akinwale.
