The Atlantic crashes against Sierra Leone’s shoreline, golden sunsets spill across the horizon, and now—on a prime coastal plot in Freetown—a striking new villa is reshaping the conversation around luxury living in West Africa.
Commissioned through Urbanespace Design + Build Limited, the villa is a collaborative masterpiece led by Onaopemipo Sotiloye (Lead Architect & CEO) and Oluwatunde Adegbenro (Head of Design Studio). Together, they have crafted a residence that is as aspirational as it is functional, positioning Sierra Leone firmly on the map of global residential design.

At first glance, the home is a vision of contemporary minimalism: crisp geometric lines, expansive glass façades, and sweeping terraces that draw the ocean into daily life. Step inside, and vast interconnected living areas invite openness and togetherness, while landscaped gardens and private lounges extend the experience to the sea’s edge. Every detail—from premium finishes to subtle spatial transitions—tells a story of modern comfort without compromise.
Speaking to Tell Magazine, Sotiloye explained the philosophy behind the design: “We wanted to create a home that doesn’t just sit on the coastline, but lives with it. The villa is about rhythm—how the residents wake to the sound of waves, how light travels through the spaces, and how nature itself becomes part of daily living.”
For Adegbenro, the project is about elevating standards in West Africa. “Our goal was to demonstrate that architecture here can compete on a global stage while still speaking to our local context. This villa shows that Sierra Leone can offer world-class design rooted in African identity,” he said.
