A female passerby is now receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital in Benin following injuries sustained when she unsuspectingly walked into a bomb blast at No. 41, Zomizomi Street, off Aifuwa Street Upper Sokponba Road, Benin, the capital of Edo State.
The bomb explosion reportedly occurred around 14.10 hours, local time. The tenant, Chinedu Elue who unknowingly was burning refuse at the spot the bomb had been allegedly buried sustained injuries on his right hand and mouth. When the magazine visited the scene, men of the Upper Sokponba division of the Nigeria Police and bomb disposal experts were on ground to comb the premises for more bombs. The magazine gathered that some kidnappers said to have been from a neighbouring state were living in the house but had to flee when the police turned the heat on them. Some neighbouring houses were affected by the blast.
