The Adamawa State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has said that it is not part of the appeal filed by Ahmadu Fintiri, Speaker of the state House of Assembly and former acting governor of the state.

Fintiri had gone to court to challenge his removal as the acting governor by an Abuja High Court on October 7. The court ordered Fintiri’s removal from office and the immediate swearing in of Bala Ngilari, the state’s former deputy governor who was said to have resigned in the run up to the impeachment of the Murtala Nyako, the former governor.

In a statement issued on Friday in Yola, the capital of Adamawa, Joel Madaki, the PDP state chairman said unlike Ngilari, who challenged his resignation and was restated by the court last Wednesday, Fintiri’s action has nothing to do with the party.

Madaki also said that the duo are strong members of the party, while assuring that efforts were in top motion to reconcile the differences and work together as members of the same party.

The party chairman told journalists that previous agreement to choose the party’s governorship candidate for 2015 election from the central zone of the state has been jettisoned with the emergence of Ngilari.

Madaki assured that members of the state Assembly are in support of the new governor and are not plotting to impeach him as it is being speculated.
