The Synagogue Church of All Nations, SCOAN has described the interview granted by Ken Emeakayi, a member of the church and an Emmanuel TV partner to Channels Television as an expression of personal view, different from the position of the church.
Dissociating itself from the statements credited to Emeakayi by a national daily yesterday, the church took to its Facebook page and said that Emeakayi spoke for himself and not for the church.
“While Mr Ken is a member of The SCOAN and an Emmanuel TV partner, he went to the media on his own personal level to air his views concerning the incident and not to officially represent the church,” the statement read.
It would be recalled that Emeakayi who appeared in an early morning programme on the television station debunked claims by the Lagos State government that the six-storey building that collapsed on September 12 in the church premises and two others earmarked for integrity test, were not approved for construction.
Controversy has continued to trail the collapse of the building. The disaster had claimed over a hundred lives, while 131 others were injured.
