The Special Adviser to Governor Nyeson Wike on Lands and Survey, Dr. Anugbom Anuoha, has been kidnapped.
The Rivers State Police Command, through its Public Relations Officer, DSP Nnamdi Omoni confirmed he was taken away by unknown gunmen dressed in military uniforms.
Nnamdi told newsmen that Anuoha was kidnapped at around 8:30 PM on Thursday in an undisclosed hotel in Port Harcourt. He described the incident as unfortunate and promised that the Police will ensure his timely release.
The PPRO also said: “The Commissioner of Police has given a marching order to all the Tactical Units, including the IGP Monitoring Unit, to work round the clock and ensure that the victim is released in record time.
“Contacts have been made with sister security agencies and other stakeholders in this direction,” he added.
The Police spokesman also begged the general public to assist the Police by providing useful information that could lead to the release of the Special Adviser to the governor.
“The public is hereby assured that there is no cause for alarm as the already existing peace in the state will be sustained,” he said.
